The Mayor and Board of Commissioners met in regular session on March 6, 2003. The following members were present: Commissioner Bid Lindsey, Commissioner Buford Goolsby, Mayor Blake Lay, and Commissioner Chris Gowen. Commissioner Robert Pulley was absent.
With a quorum present, the meeting was called to order.
The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
A motion was made by Commissioner Gowen to approve the minutes of the February 20, 2003 meeting, with a second by Commissioner Goolsby. Motion passed.
Attorney Betz presented two ordinances for consideration.
Ordinance #961 – To amend Ordinance #789 entitled “Zoning Ordinance of the City of Lawrenceburg, TN” to rezone property belonging to Brown Gobble to C-3 from C-4. Motion to approve on first reading was made by Commissioner Gowen, with a second by Commissioner Goolsby. Motion passed unanimously.
A Public Hearing concerning ordinance #961 will be held at the regular commission meeting on April 3, 2003.
Ordinance #962 – To amend Section 1-101 of the Lawrenceburg Municipal Code and to amend Ordinance 916 to establish the annual salary of the Mayor and Commissioners of the City of Lawrenceburg. Motion to approve on first reading was made by Commissioner Gowen, with a second by Mayor Lay. Motion passed unanimously
City Administrator David Huseman informed the Commission that the storm-water project is underway, with the retention pond being dug at this time. It is advisable for motorist to avoid the Remke Avenue construction site, if possible. We are using very large machinery and trucks. The dirt is being stockpiled on city property on Buffalo for future use in city projects. Some of the dirt will be used at Bobby Brewer Park and the dyke at the Water Plant.
With no further business to come before the Board, a motion was made by Commissioner Lindsey to adjourn; a second was made by Commissioner Gowen. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned.
