|A motion was made by Commissioner Gowen to
approve the minutes of the January 3, 2002 meeting; with a second by
Commissioner Pulley, the motion passed.
Mayor Lay announced that city offices would be closed Monday, January 21, 2002 in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Garbage pick-up scheduled for that day will be picked up Thursday.
Mayor Lay also talked about the on-going beautification and clean-up projects in Lawrenceburg. He asked everyone to get involved, asking that no one throw trash out his or her vehicles. A clean city attracts more businesses and industry than a dirty one.
Attorney Alan Betz opened a Public Hearing on Re-zoning Ordinances # 948 and #949. With no comments the Public Hearing closed.
Attorney Betz presented one ordinance and one resolution to the commission. Ordinance #948 - To amend Ordinance # 789 entitled the "Zoning Ordinance of the City of Lawrenceburg Tennessee", for property owned by Steve Saliba. Requesting a zoning change from C-3 to C-2. Motion to approve on second and final reading was made by Commissioner Lindsey, with a second by Commissioner Goolsby. Motion passed unanimously.
02-17-1 A Resolution to submit an application to the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development for Community Development Block Grant funds for the City of Lawrenceburg Sewer Department in the amount of $500,000.00. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Gowen, with a second by Commissioner Lindsey. Motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Lay stated that Mr. Cato and Mr. Huffer will make a presentation at the next Commission Meeting concerning our Utilities Department and future plans.
With no further business to come before the meeting a motion was made by Commissioner Lindsey to adjourn, with a second by Commissioner Goolsby.
