|A motion was made by
Commissioner Beard to approve the minutes of the June 7, meeting, with a
second by Mayor Lay the motion passed.
Don Howell announced the visit of industrial prospects today. We are one of three cities in Tennessee and a city in Kentucky that they will be visiting. Mr. Howell explained that we also have one other industry interested and they may be visiting in the near future.
Attorney Betz announced that he has discovered that Ordinance #940 (Fireworks) also deals with Zoning, therefore a Public Hearing must be held on the ordinance, with a 15-day time period from publication of the notice of hearing. A Public Hearing on Ordinance #940 will be held on July 12th at 10:00 a.m., during the regular commission meeting.
Attorney Betz had one resolution for presentation:
01-14-6 - To authorize Woodall Construction Company to proceed with the Weakley Creek Road and East Taylor Street Sewer Projects under the Continuing Construction Contract. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Beard with a second by Commissioner Pulley. Motion passed.
Margaret Weathers announced that sales tax revenues were up 18% over April of 2001 and 14% over the same date last year.
With no further business to come before the board a motion was made by Commissioner Beard, with a second by Commissioner Pulley to adjourn. Motion passed, meeting adjourned.
